Power-unit buying guides, sizing math, and head-to-head comparisons across cyclonic, filtered, and bagged designs.
You’re done buying bags. A bagless central vacuum is a power unit that collects dirt in a canister instead of a disposable bag, and OVO sells its best-selling model as exactly that, right up until you read the product page for the same part number, which says “disposable filtration bags only.” I lined up OVO’s … Read more
The moment standing water hits your central vacuum inlet, you realize you have no idea where that water is actually going. A wet dry central vacuum isn’t one product. It’s two completely different machines wearing the same label, and the difference decides whether water travels through your in-wall PVC or never gets past the hose … Read more
You want the suction of a whole home central vacuum without opening a single wall. That is what a portable central vacuum promises, and it is why the search results are such a mess. Three sellers quote three amp ratings for the same motor family, and “portable” gets stamped on a unit that needs an … Read more
You yank the cord free, drag twenty pounds of plastic up the stairs, and your shoulder aches before you’ve vacuumed one room. A central vacuum is a whole-house system built around one fixed motor in your basement or garage, wired to in-wall piping and wall inlets, so you carry only a light hose between rooms. … Read more
You pulled the brand off a dusty label in the utility room, typed “tidy vac central vacuum” into Google, and got almost nothing useful: a Virginia parts retailer, a commercial janitorial canister, and one lone bag listing. Nobody warns you they’re from different companies with no connection beyond a shared label. Here’s what makes this search frustrating: two retailers publish different air watt ratings … Read more
You searched “max vac central vacuum” and got a meat sealer, a New Jersey industrial conveyor, and a Melbourne installer on the same results page. That’s not a search engine glitch. It’s an accurate reflection of five unrelated companies sharing one name across three continents. CentralVacuumLab’s vacuum brand roundup tracks over 30 active residential manufacturers. … Read more
A lindsay manufacturing central vacuum isn’t sold under that name at any dealer, which is the surprise when you find “Lindsay Manufacturing, Ponca City, Oklahoma” stamped on a steel canister. The same Oklahoma factory ships identical hardware under the VacuMaid, AstroVac, Imperium, and Valet badges, each with its own spec sheet and square footage claim. … Read more
You bought a house with an easy flo central vac wired in, or a dealer just quoted you one for the new build. Either way, every “review” online is a parts retailer trying to sell a hose. Easy-Flo’s own product page lists the SQ9010 at 533 air watts in the description, then 700 air watts … Read more
You found the soluvac svs 800 central vacuum at a price that feels too good, and something about the warranty page made you pause. That instinct was right: Nuera Air, the company that built this unit, stopped manufacturing in April 2024, and no dealer selling it mentions it. I pulled Soluvac’s own data sheet, manual, … Read more
